HAIRCARE IS THE NEW SKINCARE: BAOBAB OIL

Imagine a nice shiny car, if you will. While the paint on a car is supposed to be long-lasting, it will eventually crack and form rust. Waxing the car will prevent the paint from drying out, cracking, and get scratches, and it will also give it a nice shine. Although your skin and scalp releases natural oils to ensure them from drying out, it’s recommended to add additional oils to it so it won’t dry out and crack, and to give it that extra bit of shine!

Both internal and external stressors can mess with your body’s natural production of oils. Hormones, stress, sunlight, cold weather, diseases or infections, medications, and even those long, hot showers you like so much can cause an imbalance to your skin. All of these factors affect your scalp too and when there’s an imbalance in your scalp, your hair suffers.

You’re probably familiar with natural oils being used in skincare. Baobab oil works as a great moisturizer for your skin since it’s easily absorbed and considered a natural cleanser that works wonders for your collagen production. Almost all oils are good moisturizers. Olive, Soybean, and Castor oil are a few more examples of oils that soothes irritation from dryness and peeling of the skin, while simultaneously conditioning it.

Shea butter works great to protect your skin from damaging free radicals coming from UV rays, as well as pollutants from the environment. Roucou oil is also considered a natural SPF, but in addition it reduces the cell damage and hydrates the skin to prevent it from aging. Antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties are also important to reduce the swelling and redness of irritated skin. Karanja and Corn oil are excellent for soothing rashes and dryness because they hydrate and nourish the skin, making it a whole lot healthier.

The benefits of the eight aforementioned potent oils can also be applied to your scalp and hair. We took the best properties of all of them and mixed them together to produce PHYTO SPECIFIC’s 99% botanical Baobab Oil. You can use it in your hair, on your body, and on your scalp either before shampooing or as a leave-in oil and just let the essence of nature do its thing.

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “all of these oils without getting oily hair? Pfft.”

We get it, more often than not when we add oils to our frizzy hair, the hair instantly becomes like a stringy, greasy mess. But don’t overdo it. We came up with a formula that’s fast-absorbing and lightweight specifically for that purpose. Also, curly and coiled hair is naturally dry and dehydrated and could really benefit from this extra dose of liquid gold!

Sometimes we have to give our skin and scalp a hand and it's important that we have the right tools to do it. While your scalp might be tougher than you think, the Baobab Oil will always be there with you to envelop and protect your hair from any stressor trying to mess with you.
