You can trust us to be botanical to the core and our track records are a testament to that statement. The brand was built with the foundational motto “Primum, Non Nocere” which translates into “First, Do No Harm”. We want to create a safe and nurturing environment for everyone creating our products and using our products.
None of our products are ever tested on animals. They are all developed in our laboratories and tested in vivo and in vitro to ensure the highest levels of performance, stability, safety and tolerance. We also work with independent laboratories on clinical and consumer product tests of usage.
Furthermore, we wanted to create products that are safe not only for customers hair and scalp, but also the hands of stylists worldwide. Repeated use of highly chemicalized products can be harmful for everyone interacting with the product. We wouldn’t want that to happen.
Which is why we are 100% natural and 95% botanical. The merits within plants are endless. Applying them towards hair care has been our modus operandi the minute we learned how beneficial they can be for ALL our customers (stylists included!)
This is why we avoid the use of chemical substances like parabens, silicones, mineral oils, and synthetic alcohols. As an example, PHYTO replaces synthetic alcohol in all its hairsprays by beetroot alcohol – this is way less drying for the hair.
We started this down this botanical journey a long time ago. This was never a trend for us. It was never something we began so that we join a club or benefit of whatever the latest fad was. Being natural, nourishing, and botanical has been at the backbone of PHYTO before it was even on the beauty industry’s radar.
Our origin story is rooted in France, and we will always be extremely french. But what we believe in is much more global. Being ecologically responsible is something every person can stand to gain from, no matter where you were born or live.
